Anonymous: What made you want to move to Japan ?
I really wanted to go to the UK. I’d been working my whole life for that. I was accepted at Wadham College, Oxford for a year long exchange program but had to relinquish my place as my finances experienced some very frustrating extenuating circumstances. After that, it was way too painful to think about trying to go to the UK again. I was crestfallen; the disappointment was extremely bitter. I was bored, needed to work, and wanted to travel. I was interested in the Japanese culture so threw myself into moving there. It was an escape from hurtful memories.
